From lagoon-reed to handwoven

baskets

The baskets are made in the coastal cities Huacho and Chincha with locally sourced natural reed from lagoons. While the men extract the reed from the lagoon and let it dry in the sun up to 5 days, the artisan women weave baskets and bags that they learned from there ancestors.
